So far in the season, my batting average is .412.  I’m happy because it’s better than last year and the hard work I put into my hitting is paying off.  It’s not so much my swing, but I am now keeping a “Hitter’s Log Book” of every at bat that I have.  I record how I’m feeling that day, how I felt in the batter’s box.  I also write down all the pitches I see in any given at bat and how I responded to them.  But most important, I have my own approach, my own plan, before I step into the box so I know what I’m going to do in different situations.  My goal is to have a “quality at bat.”  If I can have a quality at bat then the rest will take care of itself.  Having a quality at bat improves my chances of getting hits and helping my team.
